The Merciless

Tyrant Syndicate/Peaceville 2004

"The Merciless" is one of those albums that becomes more than "just another album" - once you've let it invade your deck you'll have a hard time letting it go. Metal never sounded quite so vicious, not even in 1985. The riffs are of the kind Sodom and Dark Angel could have written back then, had they actually given up their souls to the devil. You bet they wish they had.

Thrashnotes

"We spent 66 hours over a 6 month period recording the album. Coincidential? At the time I was recording the rhythm guitar for "The Merciless" it was so cold in the studio that I couldn't play the opening riff of "Hell's Fire" properly. This resulted in us stripping it down to the way it's played on the album. A subzero temperature friendly riff. Practically everything on the album was recorded under such conditions."
